BI-LATERAL STIMULATION There are similar yet different versions of this particular process known as Eye Movement De-sensitization and Re-processing, Rapid Eye Movement, Left-Right Brain Stimulation, Hemisync, Recapitulation, or the Wahe Guru Chant. This method may have originated as far back as the Vedas from India and can be accomplished by moving the eyes back and forth (visual stimulation), having sound going back and forth from one ear to the other (auditory stimulation), or stimulating the body from one side to the other (kinesthetic stimulation), and sometimes combining the breath with these as well.
To begin the process negative core beliefs, an image, emotional and physical feelings are brought into focus - then the re-processing begins with the client verbalizing and being aware of whatever thoughts, images, or feelings are being experienced. These are naturally transformed into positive states of being during COUNSELING. |
