NLP (Neuro-Lingustic Programing) came out of Ericksonian Hypnosis and was developed by
Richard Bandler, an information scientist, and John Grinder, a linguistics professor. They
studied successful people and developed a way to transfer human excellence which resulted
in a very powerful and quick psychological tool. It, like Ericksonian Hypnosis, is based on the
same premises; that people think and act based on their internal representations of the world
and not on the real world itself. If we can come to understand specifically how we created
and have maintained our inner thoughts, beliefs, and feelings, then we can change them. It
allows you to design yourself the way you would like to be and how to have the kinds of
experiences you’d like to have. NLP uses all of our senses to create what we want so we
become the creators of our lives rather than being at the effect of them. I use NLP alone or
sometimes combine it with other modalities for even better results.
The fundamental principles of NLP are:
The map is not the territory (we created our map but it is not based on reality).
Experience has a structure (when we change the structure the experiences will change too).
People work perfectly.
People are always making the best choice they can at the time.
People already have all the resources they need.
The mind and the body are parts of the same system.
You cannot not communicate.
The meaning of your communication is the response you get.
Under every behavior is a positive intention.
The person with the most flexibility in a system will have the most influence. “Flexible people
don’t get bent out of shape.”
There is no such thing a failure - it’s just feedback for the next step to take.
Everything influences everything, everything is in a constant state of change, so unless we
know everything we can’t know anything for sure.
